Affiliate Disclosure
Short version: some links on NY Nightlife may earn us a commission if you buy something after clicking them. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes what we recommend. Here's the longer, plain-English version.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a normal link with tracking attached. If you click one and then make a purchase — a ticket, a tour, a booking — the seller may pay us a small percentage. The price you pay is the same either way.
Where they may appear
The partner categories we may work with are:
- Booking platforms — hotel and table/experience booking services.
- Tours and experiences — night cruises, guided nightlife tours, and similar activities like those on our night cruises page.
- Ticketing — event and club ticket platforms.
Ordinary links to venues' own websites, subway info, or other guides are just links — most links on this site earn us nothing.
What commissions never touch
- Rankings and verdicts. Our venue pages include honest "skip this" caveats and downsides. A commission cannot buy a better verdict, and no venue can pay to appear — see our editorial policy on pay-to-play.
- Facts. Covers, dress codes, and hours come from verification work described in our methodology, not from partners.
- What we cover. We write about venues because they matter to a night out in New York, not because a partner sells tickets to them.
Why we do it
Affiliate revenue (alongside ads) is what keeps the site free, with no paywall and no sponsored rankings. If you'd rather not use affiliate links, you can always navigate to any seller directly — the recommendations on the page stay exactly the same.
How to spot them
We don't disguise affiliate links as editorial endorsements. They appear in the same contexts as any other link — a booking button, a "check prices" link, a tour listing. If a whole section exists mainly to link partners (like a "top planning pages" block), it's still built from pages we independently wrote and stand behind. When in doubt, assume any link to a commercial booking or ticketing site could be an affiliate link, and know that the facts around it were sourced independently.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you think a link is mislabeled, contact us and we'll fix it. See also our privacy policy and terms.
