Free all weekend

Charlie Parker Jazz Festival — Marcus Garvey Park (Harlem) and Tompkins Square Park (East Village), Fri–Sun, free. Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Joshua Redman and Ravi Coltrane close SummerStage's 40th season. Perfect pre-game before an East Village bar run — try Death & Co or PDT after.

Skip this (the honest item)

Dirty Circus at House of Yes, Saturday — from $43. It's a well-produced burlesque/aerial variety show, but it's the priciest ticket in the building by a wide margin: the same venue's ABC Party on the same night starts at ~$16, Friday's SLAYYYLAND is $17, and $43 nearly matches a full day-and-night at Knockdown Center with Joe Claussell ($33). If you want House of Yes spectacle on a budget, the sub-$20 parties in the same rooms are the better value.

Plan it properly
